Beypazarı is one of the few settlements in Ankara, whose historical texture is best preserved and brought to tourism. The historical Beypazarı houses, built in the traditional style, are among the most important examples of Ottoman civil architecture. Most of these two or three-floor wooden mansions are used as museums, boutique hotels, restaurants and shops today. Beypazarı, where important handicrafts such as filigree art, weaving, knitting, blacksmithing, coppersmithing, and saddle-making are still successfully kept alive, contributes greatly to Turkish culture and tourism in the protection of intangible cultural assets. Many tourists are attracted to the region with the Beypazarı Festival held in June every year.
